Located in an early 20th-century apartment in the heart of the Venetian city of Padua, Santa Lucia Suites is a boutique hotel project by AACM – Atelier Architettura Chinello Morandi studio. It is a minimalist architectural design, composed of few elements that create a tension between solids and voids, where the space itself is defined by stereotomic volumes. These volumes, or ‘boxes’, divide the interiors into four suites of different sizes and amenities. The entrances to the rooms, framed by the volumes, enhance the views of the historical buildings of Padua, while the windows add an extroverted tension toward the surrounding landscape. The service areas, on the other hand, aim for a slower and softer atmosphere, created by warm and welcoming tones.

Nestled in the historic centre of Padua, overlooking Piazza delle Erbe – an area symbolic of both past and present civic strength – lies the prestigious Palazzo delle Debite. Built in the late 19th century by Camillo Boito, and composed of four stories plus a basement, the structure will soon be converted into 10 exclusive luxury residences. The renovation project, commissioned by Invimit Sgr S.p.A. to Botticini + Facchinelli ARW, aims to restore the first and second noble floors, preserving the spatial characteristics of the interiors and restoring the existing decorations. The result will be unique apartments, each with a private cellar, where guests will have the opportunity to experience the luxury and history of Padua.

Winner of the Built Design Award, the over 6,000-square-foot penthouse at the Ritz-Carlton Residences in Miami Beach by Britto-Charette captivates the eyes with its highly customized design and stunning views of the landscape. It features a welcoming atmosphere and a distinctly ‘Miami Modern’ style, achieved through the use of fine woods and stones. A neutral colour palette frames panoramic views between water and sky, enriched with layered textures such as custom rugs, bespoke headboards, upholstered furniture, marble, and luxury accessories. Further enhancing the space is a selection of bespoke collectible pieces crafted by artisans and professionals.

The history of the building and the modernity of an elegant design come together in the renovation project of the Curio Anglo American in Florence. Part of the Curio Collection by Hilton, this 19th-century building has been transformed by Studio Chiara Caberlon. The project is themed around ‘a world of contrasts’, which is reflected in the choice of a vibrant colour palette, eclectic furniture, and selected artworks, all aiming to connect past and present. The value of preserving significant historical elements is evident from the lobby, where guests are welcomed by colourful armchairs, a refined credenza, striking details, and large artworks. Such a premise continues in the blend of traditional and original furnishings in the rooms and the inner courtyard, designed to recreate the atmosphere of early 20th-century literary circles.

Waves and Clouds. This is the name of the new porcelain collection born from the collaboration between Berlin-based designer and ceramist Stefanie Hering and Los Angeles interior designer César Giraldo. Together, they have created an ode to impeccable quality, perfect functionality, and heart-touching design, expressed in a porcelain collection for Hering Berlin. The silk screens that characterize the design are more than mere decorations; they are invitations to lose oneself among undulating waves, in the comforting rhythm, while the mind soars high among the clouds. For those who wish to immerse themselves in this ethereal design, the collection is available at MASS Beverly in Los Angeles.

An identity-less space, flattened by the homogeneity of colours and finishes, where travellers found it difficult to orient themselves: this was the state of Piazza Obikà, the Schengen departure area at Milan’s Malpensa Airport, before GNOSIS Progetti studio's intervention. Today, thanks to a skilful restyling, it is a sophisticated airport space, where the new lighting system also serves as a wayfinding system for passengers. The light fixtures are directed toward the glazed drum, which was already present and has now been enhanced. Inside, there are LED walls displaying advertisements and flight information, providing clearer functionality for the area.

The Wabi Sabi philosophy, that is, in extreme synthesis, the celebration of imperfection, has been skilfully reinterpreted in the project for jewellery designer Claudia Hamers’ home atelier by Maurizio Favetta Kingsize Architects. Located in Milan, in the heart of the Porta Romana district, this space is unusual and charming, full of emotions, partly due– needless to say – to its beautiful imperfections. The studio’s approach is akin to a film set, aiming to blend elements not by order or necessity, but based on relevance, evocative power, and the intersection between space and client-viewer. In terms of design, this translates into elegant minimalist furnishings intertwined with the preciousness of jewellery, the rawness of artworks, and designs by Francesco Faravelli, with wall treatments in raw earth decorated with stencil techniques. The project is furthermore framed by some of Claudia Hamers' paintings.

In a thoughtful and sophisticated design interpretation, architectural memories merge with contemporary functions at Villa il Gioiello, a historic residence nestled in the hills of Florence, now given new value through the restoration led by Pierattelli Architetture. This single-family residence of 700 square meters spans five floors, featuring timeless charm and an evolving history traced by a number of works of art by significant 20th-century artists. Structurally, while several original elements – such as the exterior loggia overlooking greenery, parquet floors, arches, and wooden beams – have been preserved, the spaces have been renewed with a play of surfaces and the juxtaposition of natural materials like marble, travertine, and teak and walnut woods. Most of the furnishings were designed by Pierattelli Architetture itself, harmonizing with the erudite atmospheres and ancient inspirations of Villa il Gioiello.

Added to the timeless allure of Rome are modern functional features: a cutting-edge home automation system powered by artificial intelligence, aimed at optimizing the home's energy efficiency without compromising on luxurious aesthetics.

One of the most anticipated urban regeneration projects in the Italian capital, where the charm of history meets a new vision of living, the Porta Pamphili residential project in Rome is signed by Vittorio Grassi Architects and Surf Engineering. An urban oasis regenerated where sustainability, nature, and comfort combine, aiming to outline a new residential dimension in the city. The project promotes a greener and more functional way of living and moving, with the addition of a new bike path in the area. Architecturally, the sinuous forms and colours harmoniously dialogue with the surrounding landscape. Regarding the project’s purpose, Vittorio Grassi, Founder of VGA Vittorio Grassi Architects, says: “In the Porta Pamphili project, we have developed an even more evolved model. We wanted to build a new community. Through numerous equipped spaces available to residents, as well as a kindergarten and school for the local community, we aim to rediscover the joy of social relationships in a unique natural setting”.
