Want to experience a Michelin-starred dinner immersed in great design? Chef Enrico Bartolini is here to make it happen.

Trying to pick the perfect night for a party? Wednesday is the one – DesigNight is the most anticipated event of Milano Design Week, going strong for four years.

All of this comes together in the essence of Next Place Hotel. Those lucky enough to have seen early sketches – here I am! – have been buzzing with anticipation for a while. Now, it’s time to share it with our readers. Warning: the buzz might be contagious.

A sneak peek? It’s not just a showroom. It’s not a real hotel – yet. But it is the perfect destination for architects, designers, developers, and brands seeking tangible inspiration. A place where visionary furnishings, bespoke details, talks, cocktails, and music come together to spark ideas.

Next Place Hotel: THE CONCEPT

Milano Design Week is all about big ideas – some showcase products, others reveal breathtaking installations, and some dare to reimagine entire industries. Next Place Hotel does it all. Nestled in the heart of Via Savona, this immersive installation offers a first look at the future of hospitality: fresh spaces, innovative materials, and new ways for people to connect.

Curated by Medelhan Bespoke and brought to life by Giulio Cappellini and Luca Fois, Next Place Hotel gathers top-tier international brands and pioneering research projects that are reshaping the way we experience hotels.

The venue? A true officina – not just a workshop, but a creative hub where ideas, people, and possibilities come together. Housed in Officina Fiorentini (Via Savona 35), a sprawling 700 sqm industrial space with a courtyard, this location has been a showcase for top Italian and global design brands since 2003.

For the first time, the international contract sector takes centre stage in a dynamic, high-energy setting. Here, brands, investors, hotel groups, property developers, designers, and architects meet to exchange ideas and shape the future of hospitality. More than just an exhibition, Next Place Hotel is a bold new narrative—an inspiring deep dive into the ever-evolving world of travel, hospitality, and design.

The name says it all. Next looks ahead—to the future, to community, to sustainability. Place speaks to the magic of design, where materials, colours, and textures come together to create something unforgettable. And Hotel? That’s where it all happens – a space designed for living, working, unwinding, and connecting with cultures from around the world.

And with special guest César Giraldo adding his artistic touch, this is one destination you won’t want to miss.

Next Place Hotel: THE PROGRAMME

The journey begins with a bold statement – a 13-metre Urban Garden, oversized on purpose to highlight the growing importance of greenery in our everyday lives. Designed by Centro Giardinaggio San Fruttuoso, this lush oasis sets the tone, drawing visitors into the beating heart of the venue: The Courtyard – a vibrant Milanese-style social hub where design and conversation flow effortlessly.

From here, floor-to-ceiling windows offer a tempting peek inside. To the left, The Lounge unfolds as a seamless fusion of comfort and elegance. A striking sculpture by Hsiang Han commands attention at the entrance – his nature-inspired artistry bridging craftsmanship and emotion.

The Reception itself is a showpiece—an 8-metre spatulated steel counter that blends modernity with warmth. Estel and Ton set the stage for an elegant yet relaxed welcome, while the Lounge, wrapped in deep Bordeaux hues (a Giulio Cappellini signature), invites guests into a sensory experience where textures, colours, and materials harmonise. Expect standout pieces from Dieffebi, Olmar, IconeLuce, Arte Linea, Ton, Presotto, and Fromm.

At the heart of it all, The Courtyard buzzes with life. A stylish bar, plush seating, and immersive “living green” zones create the perfect backdrop for spontaneous meetings and laid-back networking. Contributions from Cappellini, Vetsak, Nerosicilia, Flaminia, Canon, and IconeLuce bring this space to life.

Step through dramatic 18-metre curtains and enter The Wellness Area, a sanctuary of relaxation. Innovations from Technogym, Ravak, Canon, IconeLuce, Dieffebi, Flaminia, Presotto, and Olmar combine with sleek Stile flooring and walls to create a haven of serenity.

Even technology becomes art. Canon leads the way with luminous digital paintings that don’t just decorate – they define key spaces, infusing them with light and emotion. And in a final twist, Xfires proves that even fire extinguishers can be stylish.

Welcome to the next chapter of hospitality.

A Dreamlike Journey with César Giraldo

On the first floor, Los Angeles-based designer César Giraldo unveils “Enchanted Transitions”, an installation that redefines the way we experience space. This one-of-a-kind showcase plays with texture, colour, and materials, inviting visitors into a world where design and scenography merge into a visionary concept of well-being.

Here, every detail is carefully curated – cutting-edge surfaces from Cosentino, sleek elements from Grohe SPA, elegant cladding tiles by INAX, delicate accessories by Hering Berlin, and ultra-comfortable Vetsak sofas come together in a multi-sensory composition. The result? A bold, interactive experience that shifts effortlessly between work, relaxation, and shared or private spaces.

Far more than an exhibit, “Enchanted Transitions” is a journey – an invitation to explore the future of hospitality where beauty and function live in perfect harmony.
