Keywords:
A masterpiece of 1960s Italian cinema, masterfully crafted by Federico Fellini, as much as a lifestyle, entirely Made in Italy, that goes beyond the simplicity of a beautiful narrative. La Dolce Vita is an ode to a certain philosophy of living, perfectly encapsulated in the cobblestone streets of Italian art cities, in our lively squares, pulsating with life and a distinctly Mediterranean passion. It is an invitation to enjoy pleasure, the art of good living, going beyond conventions and banalities, blending art, tradition, and a brilliant diversity. It is, ultimately, a philosophy that still resonates today in those who seek a treasure trove of sensations and emotional tones in everyday life. Therefore, it is not just a term, but an aspiration, a constant call. All of this is found, translated into design terms, in the eponymous line launched by Ideal Standard, Brussels-based leading company in bathroom production.
Designed by Chief Design Officer Roberto Palomba, La Dolce Vita® is the latest addition to the design lines of the Atelier Collections, reinterpreting with renewed language that dreamlike, cinematic, and sensual world that its name recalls. It is a line offering solutions for the entire bathroom, covering Ideal Standard’s complete product portfolio, with a harmonious aesthetic composed of geometric shapes and contours inspired by nature.

Excellence not only in style, the line stands out for its high technological performance. The toilets are equipped with AquaBlade® technology in the wall-hung models, offering excellent flushing performance and improved hygiene, as well as being designed with water-saving considerations. The FirmaFlow® ceramic cartridge in the faucets ensures durability, while the PVD technology makes the colored faucets and accessories extremely resistant to scratches and wear. Moreover, there is a strong focus on sustainability: the entire collection is made with Chain of Custody (CoC) certified wood from sustainably managed forests. It is no coincidence that La Dolce Vita® has been awarded the IF Awards 2024 and the Red Dot Product Design Awards 2024.
The aesthetic, technological, and sustainable value of La Dolce Vita® has been explained to us by Domenico Morgante, Project Director of Ideal Standard Italia, who shared the significance of a project that goes beyond common standards to reach excellence in every sense.
What does 'La Dolce Vita' mean to you?
The expression evokes a lifestyle that leaves time to savor beauty in the small things, in everyday life. With this new product line, we wanted to reinterpret this concept. In fact, La Dolce Vita® allows for the creation of a tactile and expressive space that inspires and nurtures dreams. We captured this essence and brought it to life in every detail of the collection.
What elements define the excellence of La Dolce Vita®?
We created this collection with the aim of engaging all the senses of those who choose to include these products in their space every day. This is what we want to share with our business partners: the idea of a slightly eccentric freedom, of an over-the-top elegance, of infinite lightheartedness. The excellence of this collection lies precisely in this, beyond its undisputed technological features: in the possibility of being used in a freer and less rigid manner.

The collection reflects the company's SingularTM philosophy: can you explain this concept to us? And how is it applies to La Dolce Vita®?
Singular™ represents our unique approach to design, through which we offer endless bathroom solutions thanks to a vast product portfolio of ceramics, faucets, hydrotherapy, furniture, bathtubs, and accessories. Singular™ combines design, performance, technical expertise, and our commitment to building a more sustainable future, allowing us to create solutions that meet every need. No matter the bathroom environment, design style, or specific sector requirements, Singular™ provides everything needed to bring ideas to life and achieve a tailored result. La Dolce Vita® perfectly fits into this philosophy, being compatible with the entire portfolio of Ideal Standard products.
What are Ideal Standard's aesthetic priorities in creating its products?
Our company’s mission is to constantly improve the lives of its customers through innovation and design, which today translates into a perfect blend of impeccable functionality and aesthetic harmony, combining practicality, purity, and elegance. With over 100 years of history and a long tradition of collaborations with internationally renowned design masters, Ideal Standard not only introduced design into the world of bathroom fixtures but also influenced the entire sector. We therefore cannot overlook the importance of design and aesthetics in the development of our products; every day, the company challenges itself to create new projects that combine design, technology, and environmental awareness to shape the future of modern living.

And what are the specific aesthetic features of La Dolce Vita®?
Aesthetically, the beauty of La Dolce Vita® arises from a careful balance between geometric shapes and lines inspired by the natural environment. The tapered shape and curved edges of the washbasins and ceramic fixtures elegantly distinguish them, while the deep flower-shaped countertop washbasins immediately capture attention. As a standout piece, the freestanding bathtub, which would dominate any bathroom space, allows for the creation of impactful designs that exude timeless beauty and elegance. The rest of the collection shares the same design DNA, evoking the understated elegance of a relaxed Italian lifestyle.
How are Ideal Standard's products an example of sustainability?
Ideal Standard is actively committed to building a more sustainable future. Our global commitment to sustainability, ‘Together for a Better Future’, is based on three key pillars: for better living, for a better planet, and for a better business. We believe that acting responsibly is essential for our long-term success, generating benefits for our partners, customers, employees, and the communities in which we operate. To this end, we have developed EcoLogic, a new approach to product that focuses on four key values, making it possible to integrate sustainability into both our production processes and finished products. These four values concern every phase of a product’s life cycle and focus on reducing CO² emissions and waste; saving energy, water, and other natural resources; promoting hygiene; and protecting vulnerable users.
